End of an Era

Inzamam UL Haq one of the Worlds greatest bastman played his last Test at Lahore this week.

This ends his 16 years of illustrious career.

He very lazy elgance in his batting and it was always reassuring to see him at the crease while he was batting.I personally feel his best innings was against New Zealand in 1992 World Cup Semi Final where he scored 70 odd runs in 30 odd balls.He would always come through when Pakistan needed an innings from him.

With Inzamam departs the last of 1992, when Pakistan cricket was a different world. Not that it was stable before, but that world has since come undone. Inzamam didn't keep it all together; he couldn't for no one person could, but he was there through all of it, the highs, the lows, the thick, the thin: a reassurance. In that alone, there is greatness.
